Speck Funeral Home - Joan Exum Pendergrass

Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Exum Pendergrass, age 79 of Hendersonville, will be conducted 2 pm Eastern Daylight Time on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Hamilton Funeral Home in Chattanooga.  Bro. Mike McPhearson will officiate.  Burial will be in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  The family will welcome friends on Friday, June 19, from 2 until 5 pm Central Daylight Time at the Goodlettsville Church of Christ and again on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 pm EDT at Hamilton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pendergrass passed from this life on Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020, from her residence.  She was born in Hamilton County, Tennessee, on September 12, 1940, to the late Fred Earl and Mildred Henson Exum.  Joan loved her family, spending time with her church family, and adored her children.  She was a people person, and she loved working and talking with others.

Mrs. Pendergrass leaves behind her loving husband Arley Randall Pendergrass I of Hendersonville, TN; sons Arley Randall Pendergrass II of Clarksville, TN and Michael Pendergrass of Richmond, Virginia; Goddaughter Wendy Speck and husband Chris of Livingston, TN; grandchildren Arley Randall Pendergrass III, Micayla Pendergrass, Maddie Speck, Emma Grace Speck, Morgan Speck, Katie Alice Speck, and Joshua Pendergrass; and sisters Jane Coffett of Chattanooga, TN and Linda Seay of Rossville, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Joan Exum Pendergrass was preceded in death by her brothers James Fred Exum and Leonard Exum.

Pallbearers to serve are Arley Pendergrass III, Michael Pendergrass, Randy Pendergrass, David Gray, Tyler Propheter, and Will Fulton.
