Speck Funeral Home - Joe E. Conner

Funeral Services for Mr. Joseph E. "Joe" Conner, age 76, of Rickman will be conducted 2 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Eugene Gilliam will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery, with a Masonic Service at graveside.  The family will welcome friends on Monday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Joe passed from this life on Thursday morning, November 9, 2023, from the TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Madison, Tennessee.  He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on November 30, 1946, to the late Willard and Pauline Smith Conner.  A member of the Church of Christ, Joe worked for many years as an Auto Mechanic.  He was a true family man and always looked forward to family gathering with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors, working on cars and boxing.

Joe leaves behind his daughter, Jeanette Langenbach and husband James of Rickman, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Merrill and husband Jeremy, and Joshua Cole and wife Kisha; great-grandchildren, Abbie Cole and Jacob Cole; sisters, Jannie Lynn and husband Don of Algood, TN, Janice Watson of Cookeville, TN, and Joan Zhering and husband Rob of Sparta, TN; also, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Frances Carmack Conner; brother, Jerry Conner; and sisters, Joey Mansell, Judy Conner, and Janice Lou Conner. 

Pallbearers to serve Jerry Carmack, Mark Carmack, Michael Carmack, Braylen Carmack, Randy McCowan, and Jerry Bingham. Two honorary pallbearers Terry Mansell and Gavin Bingham.
