Speck Funeral Home - Johnny Allen Reece Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Johnny Allen Reece, age 61, of Allons, Tennessee. Johnny passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing leaves a profound emptiness, but his memory will forever fill the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on September 16, 1963, in Livingston, Tennessee, Johnny was the son of the late Grady Clarence Reece and Reva Olene Burgess Reece. From the very beginning, Johnny had a zest for life. He was a man who loved to laugh, loved to be with his friends, and cherished the simplest joys—whether that was a quiet afternoon fishing by the water or sharing a friendly game of cards. His quick wit, infectious laughter, and generous heart made him a beloved friend and neighbor to many.

Johnny had a gift with his hands—he was an exceptional mechanic, and no problem was too big for him to tackle. But more than his talents, it was his heart that made him unforgettable. He found his greatest joy in being a grandfather. To his grandchildren, he was a source of endless affection, spoiling them with love and making memories that will last forever.

Johnny’s family meant everything to him. He leaves behind his two devoted daughters, Chelsea McCann (Patrick) of Livingston, TN, and Tiffany Moscoso of Allons, TN, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Gregory Moscoso, Levi Valenzuela, Cali Reece, Isabella Reece, Bryson McCann, and Grayson Moscoso. He also leaves his siblings, Patricia, Sandra, Jerry Reece, Anna Darlene Ogletree, Teena Lee Melton, Shelly Coffman, Mary Clark and husband Mike of Rickman, and Lydia Chilton, along with his dog Bub, and many other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and genuine spirit.

Johnny was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Anna Mae Sidwell Reece, his daughter Tabatha Sidwell, his granddaughter Chloe Reece, and his brothers, Danny Paul Reece and Larry Edward Reece. Though they are no longer with him, Johnny’s love for them lives on in the hearts of those who remain.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Thomas Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery, where Johnny will be laid to rest among the peaceful hills he loved so much. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will include Jason Reece, Matt Coffman, Jordan Ogletree, Joseph Melton, Jacob Pannell, Jeremy Reece, and Jonathan Coffman.

Johnny was a man who lived life fully and loved fiercely. He was a storyteller, a helper, and a friend. He was someone who could light up a room with his presence and made every moment feel important. His legacy will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him. We will carry him with us always—in every laugh, in every moment shared with his family, and in every life he touched.
