Mr. Joseph Marion Ashburn, 84, of Florence KY and formerly of Spring Creek Community in Rickman TN, passed away on March 23rd 2026, At St. Elizabeth- Edgewood Hospital in Edgewood KY. A hard working man who viewed work as a hobby, Joe was not one to sit still for long.
Graveside services will be held at the Paron Cemetery on Monday April 6th at 11 AM Central Time. Brother Mark Loftis will officiate the service. Military rites will be performed by the Overton County Veterans Coalition Honor Guard at graveside.
Joseph is survived by his wife Marlene, children David Thomas Ashburn (Lynn), Rebecca Anne Limones (Chad) grandchildren Kendall, Karlie, Kerrigan, Austin, and Zac. He is also survived by several nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Ranzie and Etheleen Byars Ashburn, his brothers Thomas Ashburn, Kenneth Marsh Ashburn, and a sibling that died in infancy.
A veteran of the United States Army who served in the Vietnam War, Joseph took great pride in his service to our country without "bragging" about it. He retired from Wayne Co. Michigan and was an employee of Club Car and NAPA. He enjoyed his time working along side his brother Tom while farming. An avid bowler who bowled several perfect 300 games, Joe was a regular fixture at Bowling World in Cookeville during his time living in Tennessee. He loved his fellow bowlers as well as his neighbors in the Rickman TN area.
