Mrs. Josephine Gilpatrick passed peacefully from this life into her eternal reward on Monday, July 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by love. She was born on September 18, 1945, in Burkesville, Kentucky, to the late John and Jewell Spears Willis.

A faithful Christian, Josephine was a dedicated member of the Churches of Christ, worshiping with the Fairview Church of Christ in Livingston. Her life was marked by humble service, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the Lord and His church.

She served beside her beloved husband of 61 years, Teston Joe Gilpatrick, in ministry work, including 30 years as missionaries in Brazil, spreading the gospel and nurturing the Lord’s church. Upon returning to the United States, she continued her service to Christian education, working as a secretary for both Freed-Hardeman University and Oklahoma Christian University, institutions dear to the hearts of many in the brotherhood.

Josephine was a gentle and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister in Christ. Her legacy of faith will live on in the lives she touched.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Teston Joe Gilpatrick of Livingston, TN; her daughter, Melissa Gilpatrick of Florida; and her grandchildren, Patricia Beaulieu and Jenna, Kelby Staley, Gabriela Staley, Andrew Gilpatrick, Ava Gilpatrick, and Isabella Alves De Assis. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Genesis “Genie” Beaulieu, and soon-to-arrive Arthur Beaulieu.

Also surviving are her siblings: Leo Willis (Brenda), Gene Willis (Catherine), Madine Carmack (Leonard), and Cleo Walker, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Dewayne Gilpatrick, and siblings: Virgil Willis, Paul Willis, Roy Willis, Phillip Willis, Pauline Carter, Arlene Willis, and infant sister Claudine Willis.

Pallbearers will be Greg Etheredge, Gene Willis, Leo Willis, Billy Joe Gore, Craig Thrasher, and Andrew Gilpatrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Happy Haven Home in Cookeville, Tennessee, a Christian home for children that reflects Josephene’s heart for ministry and care for others.
