Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Speck, age 87, of Livingston, will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Darrek Copeland and Bro. Shane Nelson will officiate. Burial to follow in the Highland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends Thursday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. then on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Speck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Joyce passed away from the comfort of her residence on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. She was born in Overton County on November 12, 1935, to the late Ezra and Ella Allred McDonald. Joyce enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, and making artificial flower arrangements. She enjoyed watching movies with Anita at night. She was also obsessed with duct tape. Anything and everything that could be held together with duct tape was. She enjoyed rearranging her furniture. She enjoyed buying rugs and Chuck putting them down for her. She loved spending time with her family and special friend, Edith Beaty. The family of Mrs. Joyce Speck would like to thank Diane Crabtree and Edith Beaty for being special care givers. W.J. Staggs for making sure she had plenty of vegetables from the garden to eat. Amedisys for taking special care of her at home.
Mrs. Joyce is survived by sons, Mark Speck and wife Anita of Highland Mountain Community and James Speck and wife Patricia of Pikeville, TN; grandchildren, Brandon, Coty, Chucky, Jerry, Chris, Crystal, and Marissa; and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Speck; son Joel Speck; grandson Matthew Speck; brother Arthur McDonald; and sisters Norlene Ledbetter, Veantha Johnson, and Zotla Sells.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Chucky Speck, Brandon Speck, Coty Speck, Chris Nolen, Cole Speck, Allan Sons, and James Speck.
