Joyce Dean Reece Wong, 85, went home to the Lord, March 10, 2026 at the Cleveland
Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. The only daughter of John Martin Reece and Dessie
Glasscock, Joyce is survived by her sons Edward and Keith (Amy) and her grandson
Kyle. She was born in Livingston, Tennessee January, 16 th 1941, where she lived in
Allons, TN.

The family moved to Akron, Ohio to support the war effort where she attended East
High School and the University of Akron for Chemistry. She worked as a Realtor in the
greater Akron area for fifty years, winning numerous awards and helping thousands of
families find their homes.
Joyce was an avid gardener, annually winning “Keep Akron Beautiful” awards, and had
a passion for rescuing abandoned dogs and cats. She reveled in estate sale finds and
was a master negotiator.

She always left people better than when she found them, and worked hard to live a
simple life. In so doing, she was an example of a Christian life that inspired many
others to trust in Jesus Christ. Joyce was an instrument for the Lord to provide refuge
for many in their souls’ salvation. There are no words to describe how deeply she will
be missed, nor how vast the impact of her life.

Funeral Services for Ms. Joyce will be held Saturday March 14th at 2pm from the chapel of Speck
Funeral Home Visitation will be from 11am until time of services. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with a meal following at The Clark House. There will also be a celebration of life gathering on Saturday March 21 st
at Vaccaro’s Trattoria. Friends interested in attending should email
