Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Emogene Vaughn, age 92, of Metter Georgia, and formerly of Overton County, Tennessee will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Cade Arnold will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Joyce passed away peacefully at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center in Metter, Georgia on July 12, 2025, with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband James Bruce Vaughn, her son, James Bruce Vaughn, Jr. and daughter Pamela Sue Mood.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Rountree (Alden), grandchildren, Charles Rountree (Katelyn), Ryan Rountree, Marley Rountree, and Jennifer Wells (Tim) as well as three great-grandchildren, Autumn Rose Rountree, John Alden Rountree and Piper Leigh Rountree.

Joyce was born in Alpine, Tennessee on March 27, 1933. Joyce and her husband raised their children in Savannah, Georgia where Joyce was a stay-at-home mother and fashion consultant at Fine’s Department Store. Joyce, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and handwork. She created many heirlooms that will be cherished by her family. Joyce will be laid to rest at Greenhill Cemetery in Alpine Tennessee next to her childhood home. In lieu of flowers family request gifts to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
