A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Juanita Moody will be Saturday, September 3, 2022, from the First Christian Church. Visitation with family starting at 2 p.m. until time for service at 5 p.m.
After 90 years of life, Juanita Holt Moody has fought the good fight. She finished her race.
Myrtie Juanita Holt was born in 1932, in Byrdstown, Tennessee to the late Suzie Ona Mae Dennis and Joe Haskell Holt. She was the oldest of 6 children. In 1958, she married Raymond Willie Moody. Juanita passed away peacefully from her home in Livingston, on Tuesday evening, July 19, 2022. After finishing high school in Byrdstown, Tennessee she went on to college at Tennessee Tech University where she earned the following degrees: BS Biology, MS Education and Ed.S Education. She taught school for 37 years. Juanita was a member of the First Christian Church in Livingston, TN. She was an active quilter and gardener. She loved her family and frequently had family over for a full home cooked meal. She tended to Raymond Willie Moody during his time of need until his passing in 2006, where they had 47 wonderful years of marriage.
Juanita leaves behind her son, Steve Moody and wife Lisa of Livingston, TN; daughters, Janice McCasland, and Linda Bissen both of Michigan, and Patty Dycus and husband Richard of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Jordan Looper, Jody Looper and wife Mandy, Matthew Ray Moody, Erica Miller, Emily Miller, Will Dycus, Megan Dycus, and David Ruble and wife Marci; great-grandchildren Amanda and Jacob Ruble; great-great-grandchildren, Corey and Hailey Guerrero; brother, Billy Joe Holt and wife Frances of Livingston, TN; sisters, Oleta Barber and Ruby Huddleston and husband Ray all of Byrdstown, TN, and Marlyn Johnson of Livingston, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Moody; brother, John Leon Holt; granddaughter, Debbie Ruble Steed; grandson, Casey Looper, great-granddaughter, Amy Steed and son-in-law Jack Bissen.
