A lifelong proud Tennessean, Judy was preceded in death by the love of her life and cherished husband of 44 years, Mr. Larry E. Savage, who left this world on September 30, 2025. She was born in Allons on September 29, 1952, to the late Cal Ed and Nellie Mae (Prichard) Vaughn.
Mrs. Savage, with the gift of gab who never met a stranger she didn’t make a friend, founded Judy’s Clothing in the 1980s with Larry. There, at her namesake boutique, she clothed most of Overton County for the better part of a decade. In the 1990s, she ventured into the world of real estate alongside Larry. For all four and half decades their blissful marriage, the two worked happily hand in hand with each other at their beautifully appointed home, always kept by her in tip-top condition; cultivating their passion for flowers in their flourishing garden; experimenting with new recipes in their kitchen; and thriving with dedication in their various business endeavors. Their mutual love and devotion were an example to many, and the community never saw one without the other.
Mrs. Savage, always stylish, was known by all for her zest for life, yen for speed at the wheel, sharp eye for a deal, and flaming red locks in later life. Baking, cooking, and canning were among the life-affirming skills that Mrs. Savage honed to the highest level. Above all, she loved her family and was an incredible caretaker to her sister Edna.
Mrs. Savage was preceded in death her cherished sisters, Patsy Sue Clark and Edna Marie Hagan, as well as by C.E. Vaughn, her beloved brother. She leaves behind her treasured sons Barry E. (Jennifer) Harvey and L. Jonathan (Bradley) Savage; adored grandchildren Jordan and Jessica Harvey; darling great-grandchildren Jax and Jiraiya; dear brothers W.C. (Claudine) and Rick (Trish) Vaughn and sister Treva (Jonathan) Luellen; and many darling nieces and nephews.
The Savage family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nursing team for their compassionate care, kindness, and attention to Judy in her final days. Your love and dedication will be forever remembered.
Pallbearers to serve are Jordan Harvey, Rick Vaughn, Corey Vaughn, Collin Langford, Jonathan Luellen, Rylie Wright, and Heath Mansell.
