A come as you are graveside service will be held at Fredonia Cemetery on Saturday April 25th 2026 , at 1 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Nashville at a later date.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother June Evans passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Bethany Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Nashville. After attending Tennessee Tech, she married Houston Evans and they made their home in Livingston from 1954 until she moved to Nashville in 1984.
June always put her family first, but took time to work a variety of places over the years. She cherished her Livingston and Nashville friends as well as her Memphis family. An avid bridge player, she belonged to several clubs over the years and even played often online in her later years. She enjoyed reading books, magazines and visiting family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Martha Nicholson (Chuck), Jim Evans (Diann) and Bert Evans (Melanie). Three grandchildren, Ginny Burnett (Bill), Jay Evans (Kylee) and Elaina Mayes (Alex). Six great grandchildren, Charlee Burnett, MadilynEvans, Chloe Burnett, Wesley Mayes Jaycee Evans and Harper-June Mayes. She is survived by her sister Mary Todd Green (Gene) and well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Houston Evans, her parents Wesley and Vivien Ragsdale and her sister Suzanne Ragsdale.
She was a proud member of Blakemore United Methodist Church in Nashville.
Pallbearers to serve are Allen Hensley, Sheldon Dacus, Ales Mayes, jay Evans, Bill Burnet, and Kelly Coleman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the upkeep of the cemetery by mail to 717 N Goodpasture Street, Livingston TN 38570
