Mr. Hull passed on the morning of Friday, August 1, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born at home in Monroe, Tennessee, on November 27, 1945, Kelly was the son of the late Ewing Alexander Hull and Maudie Elizabeth Richardson Hull.
Kelly was a man of many passions, he loved hunting, gardening, and working in the hayfields with Austin Choate, especially when Betty had supper waiting on the table. He was deeply devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and his love for them was evident in the way he provided for and cared for his family. He spent his early years traveling the country as a truck driver, first for Donald Gray, then Livingston Manufacturing, Cumberland Manufacturing for Fred Maxwell, Berkline, and Saturn. Later, he served as Sheriff of Overton County from 1998 to 2002 and continued serving under W.B. Melton thereafter. Kelly was proud of his career in law enforcement and remained close to many in that community throughout his life.
Kelly will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we find comfort in knowing that he is now at home with his Savior.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Betty Beaty Hull of Allons, TN; daughters, Karen White and Marla Hull of Livingston, and Elizabeth “Bugs” Howard and husband David of Alpine, TN; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Choate and husband Austin of Alpine, TN; sister-in-law, Judy Crabtree of Rickman, TN; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Herbert, Hubert, Lawrence Hull, Emerson Hull and wife Marion, Lester Hull and wife Charlene Hull, Johnny Hull and wife Betty, and James Hull and wife Wanda; sisters Emazell Smith and husband Vester, Lexie Booher and husband Rudy, Vada Norrod and husband Marvin, Louella Ledford, and infant sisters Mary Vecheal Hull and Alma Jean Hull; in-laws, Melvin and Leta Norrod, Terry Crabtree, father and mother-in-law, Porter and Clara Beaty; and son-in-law, Ronnie White.
