Kenneth earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Tech in 1959 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963. His years of service and hard work as a consultant for State Farm  Insurance Company were a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to others.

Kenneth was deeply devoted to his faith and was an active member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ, where he treasured the fellowship of his church family. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family, particularly in the joys of camping, traveling, and teaching his grandchildren the love for the outdoors and woodworking. Ken and Fran spent many years traveling the country in their Roadtrek camper with dear friends. Kenneth's passion for life also included his love for classic cars and tractors, and he took great pleasure in restoring and maintaining them.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Frances Carlock Castleman of Livingston, TN; his son, Mark Castleman and wife Lynn Van Eperen of Westminster, CO; his daughter, Mollie Firkins and husband Michael of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Matthew Kenneth Firkins of Murfreesboro, TN, and Macie Ellen Firkins of Searcy, AR; his sisters, Faye Kay of Hermitage, TN, and Louise Wheeler of Nashville, TN; and his sister-in-law, Rita Castleman of Frankewing, TN.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Castleman; his sister, Carolynn Payne; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Kay and Lynn Wheeler.

Kenneth’s life was one of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family.
