In Loving Memory of Lance Merrideth Stevens

Funeral services for Mr. Lance Merrideth Stevens, age 44, of Livingston, Tennessee, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Brothers Alan Judd and Buddy Johnson will officiate, with burial to follow at Good Hope Annex Cemetery. The family will welcome friends for a time of remembrance on Saturday evening, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Speck Funeral Home.

Lance peacefully entered into rest on the evening of November 6, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born in Livingston on August 11, 1980, he was the cherished son of Jody and Vicki White Stevens. A proud alumnus of Livingston Academy’s class of 1999, Lance continued his education at Tennessee Tech, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

Lance was a dedicated member of the Allons Church of Christ, where his faith guided his journey through life. Known for his unwavering support and love for his family, Lance especially cherished his time spent watching his beloved nieces excel in their sporting events. His spirit was filled with joy as he cheered on his favorite college teams, Vanderbilt and UCONN, with a passion that was contagious to all around him.

Beyond the bleachers and sidelines, Lance found his happiest moments on family vacations to the beach, where the sound of the waves brought him peace and comfort. His gentle smile, quick wit, and love of sports were reflections of the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone who knew him.

Lance leaves behind his devoted parents, Jody and Vicki Stevens of Livingston, TN; his brother, Brad Stevens, and wife Kristy of Cookeville; beloved nieces, Isabella Burr and husband Brooks of Cookeville, TN, Kailyn Abigale, and Ariana Stevens of Cookeville, TN; his special cousin, Sean McConnell of Old Hickory, TN; and his dear aunt, Cheri White McConnell of Old Hickory, TN. He is also remembered fondly by numerous uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beeland and Elise Hill White, and Alf and Velma Keen Stevens, who surely welcomed him with open arms.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Mitchell, Justin Bowers, Brandon Thomas, Jade McDonald, Matt Massengille, Corey Norrod, Josh Deck, and Brian Hill.

Lance’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and the joy of family. Though his time with us was far too short, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
