Mr. Winningham was born in Overton County on March 7, 1942, to the late Lester V. and Ruby Dean Maxwell Winningham.

Les leaves behind his twin brother Clester Winningham and wife Suzann of Winter Springs, Florida; brother Hosea Winningham of Livingston; nieces Kristi Winningham-Brown of Livingston, Ginger Ricketts and husband Steve of Almaville, Amy Winningham-Lowery of Cookeville, Angela Hawkins and husband Robert of Cookeville, Melissa Bagg and husband Jerry of Shedd, Oregon, and Kimberly Roberts of Shelburn, Indiana; nephews Andy Winningham and wife Beth of Winter Springs, Florida, Stephen Winningham of Memphis, Matthew Winningham and wife Amy of Royal Oaks, Michigan, and Gregory Britt Winningham and wife Jennifer of Marshall, Florida; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addtion to his parents, Mr. Winningham was preceded in death by his son Christopher Winningham; sister Phoenicia Winningham; and brothers Richard Winningham and Roger Winningham.
