Lewis C. Collins, age 87, of Alpine passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Lewis Collins will be conducted on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. John Copeland and Derick Copeland to officiate. Burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Family will welcome friends on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Lewis was born in Alpine, TN on January 30, 1938 to the late Dennis And Flora Lee Brown Collins. He was a man who found joy in the simple, honest pleasures of life. Whether he was tending to the land he loved, riding his side-by-side through open fields, or behind the wheel of a dump truck, Lewis lived life with quiet purpose and strength. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the rhythms of farm life, always grounded in hard work and a strong connection to the earth. Among his greatest companions was his beloved dog, Penny. The bond they shared was a testament to Lewis's kind heart and loyal spirit. Penny was never far from his side, sharing in his adventures and bringing joy to his days. Lewis's legacy is one of hard work, love for the land, and the special relationships that made his life full and meaningful.

Lewis is survived by his wife Mary Allred Collins of Alpine, TN; brother Jerry Collins and wife Brenda of Nashville, TN; sister Jane Abbott of Alpine; two step-daughters Melissa Allred and Mike of Alpine, TN and Dana Ferrell and husband Chris of Livingston, TN; 7 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; special nephews Jake Collins and wife Kayleah of Alpine, TN and Dustin Collins and wife Shawna of Alpine, TN; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly. 

In addition to his parents Lewis was preceded in death by his first wife Charlene Paul Collins, infant son Carl Edward Collins, brothers Herbert Collins, Gerald Collins, and Doyle Collins, nephew Jeff Collins, and Step-son Doyle Allred.

Pallbearers to serve are Dustin Collins, Jake Collins, Chris Ferrell, Christopher Ferrell, Rodney Hargis, and Wade Hargis.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Hargis, Mike Johnson, and Junior Hargis.
