With loving hearts, we announce the passing of Mrs. Linda Kay Harrington, age 77, of Livingston, Tennessee, and formerly of New York. Linda went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, January 21, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 2, 1947, in Bliss, New York, to the late Alden Jess Northrup and Dorothy Beatrice Owens.
Linda was a devoted member of the Lord of Host Church in Omaha, Nebraska. She lived her life with a joyful spirit and loved to be in the center of everything around her. Her infectious laughter, caring nature, and warm presence made her a cherished friend and confidante to so many. Linda was a woman who took charge with love and confidence, always making sure those around her were cared for.
Her love for children was boundless, and she dedicated many years of her life working at the Genesis House in New York, where she poured her heart and soul into the lives of the children she cared for. Linda’s nurturing heart touched countless lives, and she will always be remembered for the kindness and love she shared.
Linda also shared a special bond with her best friend, Linda McLam, with whom she traveled and created a lifetime of beautiful memories. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying the simple pleasures like crocheting, going out to eat at any given moment, and always finding joy in the world around her. Above all, Linda’s love for Jesus was unwavering, and her faith was an anchor throughout her life. She also proudly supported Donald J. Trump and stood firm in her beliefs.
Linda leaves behind her loving best friend, Linda McLam, and her family in Livingston, TN; her beloved daughter, Carol Jones, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a circle of nieces, nephews, and devoted friends who will miss her deeply.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Buncy, 8 siblings and 3 grandchildren.
Though Linda has left this world, her loving spirit and the joy she brought to all will never be forgotten. She was a source of light and love to everyone who knew her, and her memory will continue to fill the hearts of her family and friends forever. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
