Speck Funeral Home - Loretta Kay (Dickerson) Pigg Obituary

Mrs. Loretta Kay Pigg, 78, of Cookeville, passed away at her home after an extended illness on Wednesday December 10th, 2025. She was born to Glen and Nell Nevins Dickerson on June 4th, 1947. Loretta lived a life of loving devotion to her family and her Lord.

 

Loretta is survived by her sons Anthony (Rebecca) Smith and Jimmy (Paula) Smith. Also surviving are her cherished granddaughters Ashlee (Carson) Foster, Miranda Smith, Kaylee Smith and soon to be great granddaughter that everyone is eagerly expecting this coming spring. She is also survived by her sister Leda Stover and a brother Hugh Lee (Julene) Dickerson. 

 

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Vernon Dickerson, and her husband's Joe Smith, Luke Pigg, and Charles Nabors.

 

Loretta loved her family very much and was an exceptional seamstress. Her embroidery work was worthy of being award winning as her attention to detail was amazing. Loretta always tried to keep a neat and tidy yard and would on occasion have a flower bed or garden. Loretta was active in the Church of Christ throughout the area most recently with Fairview and Whitson's Chapel Churches of Christ. Loretta dearly loved the time she got to spend with her family, her church family and especially her biological family.

 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 11th at 2 p.m. from the chapel at Speck Funeral Home. The family will welcome friend at 12 noon until time for the funeral. Burial will be at Clay Springs Cemetery. Brother Gary Anderson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kenny and David Pigg, Dan Tinch, Carson Foster, and Mathew Norris.
