Speck Funeral Home- Lowell Howard Allen Obituary

Lowell H. Allen, 87
Livingston, Tennessee

Mr. Lowell H. Allen, 87, of Livingston, TN, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Massachusetts on November 28, 1937, to Arthur and Dorothy Allen, Lowell lived a life devoted to seeking and sharing knowledge. A man of many talents and endless curiosity, he was an engineer by trade—a designer of firetrucks—and a master luthier who even crafted his own Dobro. Known for his ingenuity and care, Lowell was a natural “fix-it” man, never overlooking even the smallest detail, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Lowell found joy in gardening, continually exploring new ways to increase his harvest so he could bless others. Music was woven into the fabric of his life—coming from a musical family, he played with the renowned Carl Tipton and traveled extensively with the gospel group Life’s Pathway, sharing both his musical gifts and his faith.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Lowell took great joy in hosting church services in his own home, always opening his heart and home to fellowship and worship.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15th at 4:00 p.m., from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.
The family will welcome friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow at a later date at Miller Cemetery.
The Service of Remembrance will be led by Bro. Mark Walker, along with beloved family members who will share their favorite memories of Lowell.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Louise Allen; his brother Robert Allen of Livingston; and his sister JoAnn Haines of California. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Wanda Walker, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Lydia Lynn Allen, and his son Gary McNeil. Also preceding him in death were his brothers-in-law James Stamps and Luther Stamps.

A man of conviction, intelligence, talent, and above all, love—Lowell Allen’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
