Private graveside services for Mrs. Marie Ann Peterman Hurd, age 76, of Allons, were held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Hunter Cove Cemetery, with Bro. Jeff Smith officiating.

Marie was born at home in Allons, Tennessee, on August 15, 1948, to the late Luke and Sylvia Hunter Peterman. A 1966 graduate of Livingston Academy, she worked many years at Hutchinson FTS in Livingston. Marie was a kind and loving soul who found joy in the simple things: tending to her garden, keeping her home beautiful, and spoiling her grandchildren. She had a love for shopping, a talent for creating a warm, welcoming home, and a heart full of love for her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Harold Hurd of Allons, TN; her daughter, Angie Johnson and husband Phillip of Lebanon, TN; and her two treasured grandchildren, Luke Johnson and Ella Johnson, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Martha Wilson and husband Danny of Indianapolis, IN, and Betty Smith of Allons, TN, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Peterman.

Marie will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy of warmth and grace will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
