A Gathering of Family and Friends Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Marilyn K. Matthews Roop, age 63, of Livingston will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.  

Mrs. Marilyn passed from this life from the comforts of her home on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023.  She was born in Cocoa Beach, Florida on February 14, 1960, to the late Howard and Elsie Warden Matthews.  Marilyn loved reading, going to the beach, gardening, and her family.

She leaves behind her husband, William Roop, Jr. of Livingston, TN; sons, Erik Emerick of Monroe, TN, and Zakari Emerick and wife Amy of Livingston, TN; daughters, Elsey Emerick of Ocala, FL, and Shianne Roop Schafer and husband Justin of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Nicholas Emerick, London Emerick, Lexi Fontenot, Theo Shope, Camryn Copeland, Chelsea Copeland, and Clayton Copeland; brother, David Matthews of Denver, CO; sister, Debbie O'Neal.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Mathew Emerick.
