Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Marilyn P. Ledbetter, age 85, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, from the First Presbyterian Church in Cookeville, TN.  Visitation will be in the Fellowship Hall from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Marilyn P. Ledbetter was born February 26, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Kenneth and Jean Partington.  She was the beloved wife of Ron Ledbetter and mother of Mark Ledbetter.  Marilyn and Ron met in Cincinnati at the William S. Merrell Pharmaceutical Company.  They were married on April 26, 1969, and celebrated 55 years of marriage this year.

Marilyn was a strong-willed individual who loved life and being involved in various projects.  She volunteered two days a week in the gift shop at CRMC, was a member of Chapter L P.E.O., the Coterie Book Club, and was very active at First Presbyterian Church in Cookeville where she sang in the choir and served as Clerk of Session for several years.  She was also a member of MasterSingers for several years and enjoyed singing at Carnegie Hall a few years ago.  Friends remember her as a no non-sense individual who was committed to any duty she undertook and always gave 100% effort.  She would get the job done.

She enjoyed traveling and had special memories of a trip to Italy with close friends a few years ago. 

Marilyn had a long struggle with a number of health issues but always had a positive outlook and upbeat spirit.  She set an example of how to cope with difficulties.

Surviving relatives include her husband Ron Ledbetter, son Mark Ledbetter and his husband, Jake Miklos, sister-in-law Judy Story and husband David; nephew, Craig Story and wife Tammy; niece, Kerri Aldridge and husband Ryan.

Marilyn-we salute your caring heart, determination, generosity, strong will, and your dedication to volunteering and serving others.  We will miss you!
