Funeral Services for Ms. Marlene Garrett, age 68 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Monday, October 7th from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston.  Burial will be in the Wirmingham Cemetery.  Bro. Nick Turner will officiate.  The family will welcome friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 9 PM and again on Monday from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 PM.

Ms. Garrett passed from this life on Friday afternoon, October 4, 2024, from her residence. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 22, 1955, to Nellie Mae Garrett and the late Ben Frank Garrett.  Family was the most important thing for Marlene.  She also loved spending time in the mountains and watching the hummingbirds.  She was passionate about horses and flowers, and she never met a stranger.

Marlene leaves behind her mother Nellie Mae Garrett of Livingston; sons Greg Bowers and wife Ashley of the Harris Chapel Community and Dusty Staggs of Cookeville; daughter Jennifer Sells and fiance Tory Trobaugh of Rickman; grandchildren Halle Jasmine Wright and husband Tucker, Caston Bowers, Chance Sells and fiancee Leah Gandy, Laney Bowers, Logan Sells, Kylie Staggs, Kennedy Staggs, and Henry Trobaugh; great grandchildren Saylor Sells and Wrenlee Sells; brother Clifford Garrett and wife Brenda of Richmond, VA; sisters Darlene Bilbrey and special friend James Allred of Cookeville, Leila Turner and husband Nick of Livingston, and Frankie Crabtree and husband Brad of Murfreesboro; Special Aunt Linda Moles and husband Doyle of Crawford; mother-in-law Dora Staggs of Thorn Gap; sisters-in-law Zinnie Bilbrey and Roger Linder and Lisa Norrod and husband Steve; brothers-in-law Jeff Staggs and wife Terri, Donald Staggs and wife Melanie, and WJ Staggs; father of her son Johnny Bowers; and an unknown amount of family and friends.

Ms. Garrett was preceded in death by her father Ben Frank Garrett.

Pallbearers to serve will be her nephews and grandsons.
