The funeral service for Mr. Marvin "J.R." Lee Hill, Jr. will be held on Monday, December 30, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 29, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Paran Cemetery. Bro. Danny Lane will officiate. 

Marvin was born on June 5, 1960, in Putnam County to Marvin and Sophie Hill. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed watching classic car shows on TV. Above all, Marvin cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved sitting on the porch, cooking delicious meals, and sharing his food with those he cared about.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Pam Hill of Rickman; his children, Jennifer Hill of Cookeville; his stepchildren, Josh Harris and Chris Harris of Rickman, April Myers (and husband James) of Rickman, Matt McLerran, and Natasha Maxwell; his daughter-in-law, Samantha Redman; and 12 grandchildren, who brought him so much joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Sophie Hill, son, Matthew Hill, step-daughter Christina Brown, and his sister, Cheryl Christian.

Pallbearers to serve are; Tyler Wright, Thomas Kelly, Alex Leon Alvarez, Victor Cirigo Diaz, Austin Harris, and James Lewis.

Marvin’s kind heart, warm presence, and love for his family will always be remembered.
