Mrs. Mary Jane Connor, age 80, of Byrdstown, TN passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from the comforts of her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane will be conducted on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Family will welcome friends on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. 

Mrs. Mary Jane was born on June 22, 1945 to the late Daniel and Edith Witmer. She was a devoted healthcare worker who spent many years at Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center, caring for others with her whole heart. She didn’t just work with her patients — she loved them. She was the kind of person who would go without so someone else wouldn’t have to, always putting others before herself. Mrs. Mary Jane had a forgiving soul and a gentle spirit. She was happiest when making others smile, and her laughter could brighten any room. She will always be remembered for her kindness, her selflessness, and the love she gave so freely.

Mrs. Connor is survived by her husband Clyde Donald Connor, Sr. of Byrdstown, TN; children Christina French, Terry Lee Pompell, Clyde Donald Connor, Jr., and Theresa; grandchildren Cody Pompell, Micheal Pompell, Kaci Pompell, Ashley Pompell and Carmen Pompell; 3 Great-grandchildren; sister Jeanie Dobbs; and Brother Lloyd Kendell.

She is preceded in deathby her parents Daniel and Alice Edith Witmer; son Ricky Pompell; and daughter Lisa Donielle Allen.
