Graveside services for Mr. Matthew Carl Hill, age 53, of Livingston, Tennessee, will be held at a later date.

Matthew passed from this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Livingston Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 8, 1972, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to Carl Edward Hill and the late Patricia Ilene Garrett Hill.

Matthew found peace and happiness in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line on a quiet lake or walking through the woods with a hunting rifle, he felt most at home in nature. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time and traveling with his beloved wife, Shirley. Their shared adventures were the heartbeat of his life.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley Lockhart of Livingston, TN; his father, Carl Hill of Livingston, TN; his son, Joseph Edward Robert Matthew Hill of Sparta, TN; and his daughter, Tristen Grace Hill of Cookeville, TN.

Matthew is also survived by his sisters, Wendy Neely of Cookeville, TN, and Alicia Jean Hill-South of Spencer, TN; his brothers, Jason Robert Hill of Crossville, TN, and Josh Maulding of Livingston, TN; and several beloved grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ilene Garrett Hill, and his grandparents.

Matthew will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, lived simply, and found joy in the quiet beauty of the natural world. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
