Speck Funeral Home - Melia Christine Franklin

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Melia Christine Franklin, age 97, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and formerly of Livingston, Tennessee will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Jon Ledbetter will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.  The family will welcome friends at the time of service.

Mrs. Christine passed from this life on June 3, 2022, at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.  She was born January 21, 1925, in Byrdstown, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley Johnson and Ada Taylor Johnson.  Christine loved going to church, her family and family reunions.  She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, quilting, reading and rummage sales.

Christine leaves behind two daughters, Anna Faye Honeycutt (Charles Luther) of Johnson City, TN, and Debra Thompson (David) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Joshua Thompson (Lindsey), Christopher Honeycutt, Timothy Thompson (Trisha), Phillip Honeycutt and C. Paige Timmons (Eric); great-grandchildren, Jacob Thompson, Peyton Timmons, Thea Thompson, TJ Thompson and Daylen Timmons; sisters, Alean Reeder of Huntsville, AL, and Lura Wells of Hermitage, TN; brother, Aaron Johnson (Reba) of Cookeville, TN; sisters-in-laws, Marilyn Johnson of Livingston, TN, and Sandra Johnson of Winchester, TN; brother-in-law, Tommy Hutchinson and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband Charles P. Franklin; infant daughter Amelia; grandson, Charles L. Honeycutt, Jr; brothers, Wilmer Johnson, Bennie Johnson and Ed Johnson; sisters, Janice Hutchinson and Robbie Dean Prichard; sister-in-law, LV Johnson; brothers-in-law Lester Prichard and Duel Reeder.
