Funeral Services for Mrs. Myrtle Carwile Allen, age 86, of Livingston will be conducted 10 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Roger Bybee will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Maxell Chapel Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Myrtle passed from this life on Monday morning, August 12, 2024, from the Hospice of Cumberland County.  She was born at home in the Turkey Town Community of Overton County on September 11, 1937, to the late John Thomas and Flora Mae Pitcock Carwile. 

Myrtle was a member of the Hilham Church of Christ.  She married the love of her life Mr. Clifton "Dock" Allen on June 5, 1954, and enjoyed 56 years of wedding bliss together.  Myrtle never met a stranger and always filled the room with her beautiful and contagious smile.  After working over 40 years in the shirt and auto factories in Livingston, Myrtle escaped to her home where she enjoyed her garden and just being at home.  She loved her family and enjoyed going to eat at KFC.

Myrtle leaves behind her son, Rick Allen and wife Pam of Livingston, TN; daughters, Gail Maynord and husband Ronnie of Allons, TN, and Sherry Dyer and husband Terry of Bloomington Springs, TN; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 special nieces.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Allen; sons, Billy Ray Allen and Terry Anthony Allen; daughter, Connie E. Miller; granddaughter, Amy Lynn Maynord; brothers, Marvin, Ed, and Larry Carwile; sisters, Madelyne Carwile, Mildred Carwile Lee, and Maille Carwile

Pallbearers to serve are Jerran Allen, Adam White, Tyler Allen, Michael Huff, Chad Lacy, Cody Allen, Kyle Allen, and Denny Allen

Honorary Pallbearer is Teddy Greer.
