Speck Funeral Home -PFC Michael Patrick Shaughnessy, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services for PFC Michael Patrick Shaughnessy, Jr., age 20 of Fort Benning, Georgia, will be conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Steven Barlow will officiate.  The family will welcome friends at the time of services.

Michael passed from this life on October 30, 2021, from Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning.  He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on October 18, 2001, to Michael Shaughnessy, Sr. and Jennifer Ludwig.  Michael loved spending time in West Lake, Maine, playing lacrosse and football, and fishing.  He enjoyed his rifles and pistols, old cars, and learning about medicine.  Michael loved the Army and serving his Country.  He was a family man and always enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.

PFC Shaughnessy leaves behind his mother Jennifer Brown and step father Robert of Monroe; father Michael Shaughnessy, Sr. of Philadelphia, PA; sister Melissa Brown of Monroe; brothers Nicholas Brown of Monroe, Liam Shaughnessy of Jenkintown, PA, and Kierran Shaughnessy of Philadelphia, PA; grandmother Sandy Magill and husband Kevin of Waynesboro, VA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Shirley Ludwig; grandmother Celeste Shaughnessy; grandfather Michael R. Shaughnessy; and grandfather Jack Brown.
