Speck Funeral Home - Paul Leon Hargis

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Leon Hargis, age 72 of Rickman, will be held 2 pm Sunday, July 12, 2020, from that chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston.  Bro. Denton Hummel, Bro. Tommy Harris, and Bro. James Williams will officiate.  Burial will be in Campground Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 9 pm and again on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 pm at Speck Funeral Home.

Mr. Hargis passed from this life on Friday morning, July 10, 2020, from his residence.  He was born in Overton County on November 21, 1947, to the late Thomas Buren and Bethel Deck Hargis.  Paul loved to work his backhoe, drive his 4 wheelers and side by side, and spend time with his family.

Mr. Hargis leaves behind his wife Carolyn Hargis of Rickman; daughters Angela Hargis Sullivan and husband Dale of Livingston, Wendy Copeland, and Kim South and husband Michael of Allons; grandchildren Justin Thrasher, Jaylin Copeland, Cody Blakely, Chelsea Blakely, Molli South, Kaylee Hargis, Holden Hargis, Emma Grace Sullivan, and Ella Sullivan; three great grandchildren; brothers Bill Hargis and wife Carole of Rickman, Jack Hargis and wife Sheila of Indiana, and Tom Hargis of Cookeville; and sisters Lois Cross of Cookeville, Debbie Jones and husband Bruce of Cookeville, and Vickie Birdwell of Boone, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hargis was preceded in death by his son Clinton Paul Hargis; brothers Otis Hargis, J.B. Hargis, Ronnie "Possum" Hargis, and twin brother Earl Hargis; and sisters Leva Mae Hargis, Emma Jean Ogletree, Betty Harris, and Sue Moss.

Pallbearers to serve are Holden Hargis, Cody Blakely, Roy Ogletree, Eric Clark, Tom Hargis, and Terry Autry.
