Speck Funeral Home - Richard Thomas Lampson Obituary

Richard Thomas Lampson, 77, of Celina, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2025. Born in 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan, he was the only child of the late Clifford and Mary Lampson (nee Smith).

At the family’s request, no public services will be held. His family will gather privately at a later date to honor his life.

A proud veteran, Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a communications expert with high-level security clearance, earning the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. He translated his technical expertise into a long career as a manufacturing engineer specializing in printed circuit boards. Richard was a man of wit and resilience, known for his mantra: "Some days you eat the
bear, and some days the bear eats you." An avid fisherman with a cherished lifetime license, he was happiest on the water, in his garage or tending to his property.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; his mother, Mary; and his son, Douglas Lampson. He is survived by his daughters, Tricia Kletke, Erin Tilotson, and Ashley Lampson, and several grandchildren.
