Graveside Services for Mr. Roger E. McDonald, age 83, of Monroe will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2021, from the Bethsaida Cemetery. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.
Roger McDonald passed from this life on Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2021 from St. Thomas West in Nashville. He was born at home in Monroe, Tennessee on November 8, 1937 to the late Troy and Beulah Hull McDonald. A 1957 graduate of Livingston Academy, a farmer, and a member of the Christian Church. Roger enjoyed traveling, farming and never met a stranger. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, and his dog Charlie.
Roger leaves behind his son, Scot McDonald and wife Kim of Monroe, TN; daughters, Kim Huff and husband Shean, and Susan Carroll and husband David both of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Madison McDonald, Will McDonald, Eva, Aliza, and Joshua Huff, Lilly, Rachael, Madeline, and John David Carroll; friend and partner, Pat Sells of Monroe, TN; brother, Troy McDonald, Jr. and wife Gayle of Tullahoma, TN; also several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Pile McDonald; sisters, Joy McDonald, and June Hall; and infant grandsons, Aaron and Benjamin Huff.
Pallbearers to serve are Will McDonald, Joshua Huff, John David Carroll, Seth McDonald, Craig McDonald, Tom Hall, Brent Linder, Jason Worley, and Thomas Johnson.
