Obituary

Funeral Services for Mrs. Roxie Little, age 87, of Livingston, will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Brother Elzie Smith will officiate. Burial to follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 12 noon until time of service at 2 P.M. at the Speck Funeral Home.   

Mrs. Little passed from this life on Friday, March 17, 2023, from the Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville. She was born in Fentress County on March 10, 1936, to the late Harold and Effie Smith.

Roxie loved the Lord with all of her heart. You could tell that from the moment you spent any time with her. She was a member of Church on the Hill in Algood. Roxie loved her family and friends, she enjoyed shopping, dancing, traveling, playing Bunco and her favorite place to eat was the Apple Cake Tea Room in Knoxville. She loved being a part of the Gideon's Auxiliary and distributing Bibles. Besides visiting with friends and family, her favorite hobby was reading.

Roxie leaves behind daughters: Phyllis Looper and husband Doug, Teresa Richardson and husband Jamie, Sheila Little Heeke and husband Lance. Sons: David Little and wife Veronica, John Little and wife Jan. Granddaughters: Lori Looper and Lauren Szu-Tu and Kevin. Grandsons: Brian Heeke and Arielle and Brent Heeke and wife Lauren Michele. Great- grandchildren: Liam Looper, Grant Heeke, Juliette Heeke, Adeline Heeke, Magnolia Heeke, Hunter Heeke, and Haley Szu-Tu. Sister: Lillie Adkins. Brother: Elzie Smith and wife Nancy. A host of friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as Special Caregivers Barbara Danner, Brenda Bowman, Deanna Kennedy, Denise Burchett, Joanna Branstetter, Linda Murphy, and Megen Seber.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Little was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children Melvin Eugene (John) Richardson, second husband Billy Jim Little, infant son Roger Dale Richardson.

Pallbearers to serve are Jamie Boykin, Liam Looper, David Little, Lance Heeke, Kevin Szu-Tu, and Jack Boykin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Looper, Brian Heeke, Brent Heeke, Wayne Beechboard, and Carl Lowe.
