Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Douglas "Shorty" Norrod, age 77, of Monroe, will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Tommy Johnson, and Bro. Nolen Cantrell will officiate. Burial to follow in the Grant Norrod Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.
Mr. Norrod passed from this life on Sunday evening, November 8, 2020 from the Signature Health Care in Algood. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on December 26, 1942 to the late Herman & Clancy Sells Norrod. A member of the Oak Dale Baptist Church, Shorty loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Tennessee Titans, and watching westerns on television.
Shorty leaves behind his wife, Bobbie Ledbetter Norrod of Monroe, TN; sons, Kenny Norrod & wife Melanie of Livingston, TN, Kevin Norrod & wife Gina of Knoxville, TN, and Kyle Norrod & wife Erron of Murfreesboro, TN; son-in-law, Bryant Smith of Byrdstown, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Norrod & wife Rachel, Jessica Jackson, & husband Lee, Brandi Wolfram & husband Jesse, Blake Smith & wife Misty, Colton Norrod & wife Shelby, Colby Norrod, Macie Norrod, Skyler Norrod, Luke Norrod, Ella Norrod, and Oakleigh Norrod; great grandchildren, Kayleigh & Kenli Norrod, Nosh, Ace, and Spence Jackson, Easton, and Charlee Wolfram, Brandon, Lakelynn, and Layla Smith, Charlie Norrod, and Olivia Norrod; brothers, Donald Norrod & wife Jean of Monroe, TN, and Gerald Norrod & wife Zennith of Monore, TN; sister, Betty Ledbetter of Monroe, TN.
In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Smith; brothers, Homer, Bethel, Glen, Tom, Paul, and Landon Norrod; sister, Helen Reeser.
Pallbearers to serve are Jacob Norrod, Colton Norrod, Colby Norrod, Luke Norrod, Blake Smith, Jesse Wolfram, Lee Jackson, and Scott Norrod.
