Funeral services to celebrate Ryan’s life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Cookeville, Tennessee on Friday, May 9, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held immediately after at the Overton County Memorial Gardens in Livingston, Tennessee. Rev. James Shenko and Rev. Michael McLaughlin will officiate.
Ryan Scott Heath, born October 19, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his home in Algood, Tennessee.
He was loved by his family and numerous friends. He was known for his creativity, perseverance, and fierce loyalty.
Ryan had recently begun working for Portobello America in Baxter, Tennessee, in December 2024, maintaining machinery. He had recently completed his coursework for an Associate of Science degree in mechatronics at Volunteer State Community College. Outside his professional life, Ryan enjoyed creating ceramic art and studying Spanish.
Ryan had a kind spirit. He was always there when his family needed him, and he devoted several years of his life to helping homeless men and those who struggled with substance abuse to find and keep housing and to achieve and maintain sobriety in Tampa, Florida.
He was survived by his mother, Beverly Wright Heath Cardinal of Algood, Tennessee, and his brother, Andrew John Heath of Madison, Tennessee. He was also survived by his uncle David Wright (Denise) of Livingston, Tennessee, his aunts Donna Johnson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sabra Wright of Knoxville, Tennessee, Roslyn Morris (Ed) of Johnson City, Tennessee, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Charles Heath of Livingston, Tennessee, his step-father, Mike Cardinal, his first cousin, Alex Wright, and his uncles Terry Wright and Bill Heath.
Pallbearers to serve are Jacob Reed, Michael Cardinal, Bronson Bozeman, Andy Allred, and Robert Phelps
