Speck Funeral Home - Sonny "Bud" Claude Burks

Funeral Services for Mr. Sonny "Bud" Claude Burks, age 81 of Monterey, will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, October 2nd, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston.  Bro. Tony Phillips will officiate.  Burial will be in the Richardson Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Friday from 5 until 8 PM at Speck Funeral Home.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Sonny "Bud" Claude Burks of Monterey, Tennessee, on September 27, 2021, at the age of 81 years.  He has been reunited in Heaven with his loving wife Betty Jean Burks. He will be remembered by his children : Larry (Margaret) Burks and Lisa Frasure (Mark); grandchildren: Kiley Allen, Ashely Callahan, Tashaunya Strunk, Brittany Frasure, and Miranda Turnier, and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Comer Burks and Annie Boles Burks.  Sonny was one of thirteen siblings.

Sonny spent most of his life farming and working construction.  He lived his life surrounded by family and friends.  He loved to tell stories and loved a great joke.  He prided himself on the love he had for his family and how they are his greatest achievement.
