Speck Funeral Home - Sue Ann Twyman Obituary
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Sue Ann Twyman, age 77, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Sue passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on May 21, 1947, in Hodgenville, Kentucky, to the late Carl and Molly Patterson Twyman, she lived a life marked by service, compassion, and a deep love for her community. Sue Ann served honorably in the United States Air Force as a medic, where her caring nature and dedication to others first shone. Her time in the Air Force was just one of the many ways she contributed to the well-being of those around her.
After her service, Sue Ann continued to give back to her community through her work in the home health field, where she made a difference in the lives of many. She was known for her nurturing spirit, which she expressed in her vibrant flowers and the bountiful garden she tended with love and care. Sue Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of life—sharing laughter during card games with family and friends, and losing herself in the pages of a good book.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Dunn and wife Christy of Alpine, TN; her daughter, Dawn VanMeter of Ohio; her sister, Sherry Mullins of Frederick, IN; and many dear friends and loved ones who will hold her memory close. Grandson Zachary VanMatre and Great Granddaughter Laurie VanMatre
In addition to her parents, Sue Ann was preceded in death by her brother, David Twyman.
Sue Ann’s legacy is one of love, service, and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
