Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas J. O'Brien, age 76 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Saturday, September 30th, from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 PM.
Tom passed from this life on Wednesday morning, September 27, 2023, from the comfort of his home. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on May 12, 1947, to the late Joseph and Rose Mangan O'Brien. Tom was an active member of his community, serving as the Director of the Overton County Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Rotary Club for many years. Tom faithfully served the families of Overton County through his work with Speck and Livingston Funeral Homes over the last ten years. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and driving the van for the First United Methodist Church where he was a member. Most of all, Tom loved his family dearly.
Tom leaves behind his wife of 53 years Carolyn Winton O'Brien of Livingston; sons T.J. O'Brien (Jessi) of Spring Hill and Matthew O'Brien of Nashville; grandson Declan O'Brien; brother Joe O'Brien of Warsaw, Indiana; niece Jennifer Johnson (Brooks) of Nappanee, Indiana; three nephews; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
