Funeral Services for Mr. Victor Odus Speck, age 93, of Cookeville will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Speck will officiate. Burial to follow in the Copeland Cemetery at West Fork, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends on Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. until time of services at Speck Funeral Home.
Victor passed from this life on Wednesday morning, November 1, 2023, from the Overton County Health and Rehab. He was born at home on November 21, 1929, in Monroe, Tennessee to the late Joe May and Janie Ledbetter Speck. Vic was a 1948 graduate of Livingston Academy and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of the Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville, TN. He loved watching sports, especially UT sports. He even coached high school girls fast pitch softball. Vic was a great motivator to young kids and adults. He always enjoyed keeping his yard well maintained and manicured. His greatest joy was his family and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
Victor leaves behind his wife, Betty Copeland Speck of Cookeville, TN; sons, Mike Speck and wife Faye of Sevierville, TN, and Mark Speck and wife Cheryl of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Melody VanNus and husband Matt, Kendal Eicke and husband Jeremy, Hayley Robbins and husband Jacob, and Amon Speck; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Speck of Lafayette, TN, and Grady Speck of Battle Creek, MI; also, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his brothers, Othel, Willie P., and Estes Speck, and sister, Ann Norris.
Memorial Donation may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
