Mr. Cox passed from this life on Thursday afternoon, July 16, 2020, from his residence. He was born in Overton County on April 14, 1957, to the late Oplis and Orgie West Cox.

Walter leaves behind his sisters Betty Jean Auberson of Rickman and Edith Marie Cox; brothers James Cox and wife Tena of Rickman and Russell Cox and wife Linda of Cookeville; step brothers Tom Cox of Glasgow, Kentucky, and Jack West of Livingston; step sisters Willodean Ball of Allons and Lula Barriger of Allons; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his brothers Horace Cox, Billy Cox, Arlo Cox, and Nelly Cox; step brother Layton Cox; and step sister Marie Cox.
