Beloved mom, grandmother, friend, and sister Judith Kay Carpenter Timms, age 83, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of April 5th, 2024. She left this world and entered God's eternal love and grace. The Adopt daughter of Rev. Arthur E. "Bud" and Hellen Carpenter, Judy was born in Rochester, Indiana on October 28, 1941. She graduated from Perry High School in 1960 and began working as a nursing assistant.
Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed many activities such as designing and making unique clothing, crocheting, gardening, photography, singing, dancing, ceramics, traveling, and competitive bowling. Judy also worked with the HeadStart programs in Florida and Tennessee and was the cafeteria director for the Assembly of God Daycare and The Canteen for the U.S. Sugar Corporation in Clewiston, FL.
In addition to her parents Judy was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Lowell Timms from Tennessee, previous husband Frances N. Sago from Ohio, and her brothers Virgil Richter, and Jerry Carpenter. She is survived by her five children from various states in the U.S., including Nathaniel Hunter Close Timms of Celina, Tennessee and Jennifer Varnado from Georgia, as well as many grand and great-grandchildren. Judy will be missed and will always have a loving spot in the hearts of every life she touched.
Life celebrations will be held privately in various locations at the discretion of the family
