Funeral Services for Mrs. Thelma Lee Shelton Arney, age 72, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2020 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Pastor Buddy Reed to officiate. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thelma passed from this life on Saturday morning, May 9, 2020 from her residence in Livingston. She was born at home in the Crawford Community of Overton County on February 4, 1948 to the late Hollis & Jewel Conatser Shelton. She was a member of the Keeping the Faith Church in Rickman. She worked for many years at the Overton County Health & Rehab Center. Thelma always enjoyed her family and doing everything with them; family was her life. She also enjoyed being with her friends, camping, going on trips, yard sales, and working so she could spend her money to do things with her family. She always said she wished she could have lived on the courthouse square where she could be in the middle of everything. Thelma loved life and her family.

Thelma leaves behind her loving sons, Johnny Dewayne Arney of Livingston, TN, and Jeffery Dale Arney and wife LeeAnn of Hilham, TN; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Shelton and wife Brenda of Rickman, TN, and Roger Shelton of Livingston, TN; sisters, Wilma Staggs & husband Danny of Livingston, TN, and Ruth Watkins of Allons, TN; special friends, Carol Collins and Jane Abbott.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray Arney and brother, Jerry Shelton.

Pallbearers to serve are Johnny Dewayne Arney, Jr., Jeffrey Dale Arney , Jr, Kevin Watkins, Jackie Watkins, Danny Wayne Staggs, Joseph Shelton, and Donald Shelton.
